Monitoring & Alerts: jump to another article
How out-of-range detection works
Every check is judged the moment it’s saved against that machine’s spec ranges. If Brix, concentration, pH, or refractive index falls outside the band, KeepSpec opens an alert — there’s no separate monitoring step to configure or turn on.
Where it shows up
- On the machine itself — a red banner at the top of the machine’s screen (web and mobile) names the violation and when it fired, for as long as it stays unacknowledged.
- In the Alerts inbox — every open alert across your organization, with the site, line, machine, and what was out of range.
- Mobile push notification — sent the moment the alert opens. See Push notifications on the mobile app.
One alert per machine, not per reading
A machine with an open alert doesn’t open a second one for the next out-of-spec reading on the same issue — it stays open until someone acknowledges it. See Acknowledging an alert.
If nobody responds
An unacknowledged alert doesn’t just sit quietly — it escalates. See The escalation chain.
