Signing in and two-factor authentication

The same email and password sign you into the web console and the mobile app — see Creating your account if you don’t have one yet.

Forgot password

On mobile, “Forgot password?” on the sign-in screen emails a code tied to that attempt; enter it along with a new password and you’re signed in immediately — no separate “now sign in again” step. On the web console, the same reset flow is built into Clerk’s own sign-in dialog.

Two-factor authentication

If your account has a second factor enabled, KeepSpec prompts for it right after your password is accepted. Four methods are supported: an authenticator app (TOTP), an emailed code, a texted code, or a backup code. Whichever your account is set up with is the one you’ll be asked for — there’s nothing to choose at sign-in time.

A note on shared plant tablets

A device marked as shared signs itself out automatically after 8 hours — worth knowing if you’re the one setting up a tablet mounted on a line, since whoever picks it up next will need to sign in again rather than staying logged in indefinitely. See Shared-device mode for plant tablets.
